Have Murdered ME...
My name was Sid and I lived on YOUR Recreation Ground on Leigh Road in Eastleigh, Hampshire. My EBC tree reference number was '42280' and on the 18th February 2008 Beastleigh BC deemed I should be EXECUTED..!!
I was a big, strong, 72 year old sycamore tree that belong to the people of Eastleigh but sadly I on Easter Monday I was MURDERED..!!
CUT ME UP and removed the ground that surrounded me that was my garden, even though EBC said I was in perfect health and that there is nothing wrong with me. I was planted in 1936 by the council, and grew into a big, healthy and proud tree. I was also told that I had at least another 80 years of life still remaining in me, according to the council's Tree Protection Officer..
I soaked up 1.33 tons of harmful Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas that is dangerous to the environment.
Children loved to come and see me when I was in all my glory during the summer months, and collected my seeds as they fell from my branches in Autumn time, like little helicopter blades.
I needed YOUR help to protect me from the man at the council, who has sliced me to bits with his chainsaw, as he said I was in the way of a new building that the council want to build. However, the people in Eastleigh had told me that they did not want this new building, but wanted to keep me!!

Sadly, on Monday 18th February 2008 the following Liberal Democrat
Councillors supported the plans to have me MURDERED..!!

issued instructions via his legal team to challenge this decision through the High Courts, and one
Liberal councillors is being subjected to investigagtion by the Standards Board for trying to lie and
deceive the public with one of his statements, which he refused to retract even when challenged by his own party.

Did you hear what heartless Councillor Chris Thomas said in the report.. Do my ears
deceive me..? He said 'This is a 'WONDERFUL TREE' and will be replaced
with three equally wonderful trees..!!!'
Well they may be wonderful trees in 60 years time, but as they
will be only (at most) five years old, how can he even think to
make the claim that they will be 'equal' to what Sid is now. A deception??
Yes, they will be wonderful, so much so that, given how small
they will be, you will wonder where they are??
