Sara is having a good US Open so far; in the 2nd round she beat 19th seed Patty Schnyder 7-5 6-2.

Sara won her first round at the US Open: she beat Arantxa Rus 6-0 6-3.
In doubles, she and Pennetta will play their first match today, against the Chinese duo Yan/Zheng.

Unfortunately Sara wasn't able to beat Lepchenko. She lost 1-6 4-6.
The doubles draw in New Haven isn't out yet, but Sara will probably play doubles with Flavia Pennetta (they will also play together at the US Open and afterwards, to prepare for the Fed Cup final in november). Hopefully this will give her some match rhythm and confidence before the US Open.

Sara is 1st seed in the qualifying at the Pilot Pen Tennis presented by Schick, in New Haven. In the first round she will play Varvara Lepchenko, later today.

Despite showing good fighting spirit all through the match, it wasn't enough, and Sara lost 4-6 2-6 to Cibulkova.
Next week, Sara will play in New Haven. This will be her last tournament in preparation for the US Open, starting 31 august.

In the Rogers Cup in Toronto, Sara will play 16th seed Dominika Cibulkova in the first round. They met once before, in Cuneo in 2007. In that match, Cibulkova retired at 2-2 in the first set.

Unfortunately Sara lost against Hantuchova: 6-3 3-6 1-6.
As she doesn't play doubles this week, the tournament is over for her now. Sara's next tournament will be the Rogers Cup in Toronto next week.

The draw for the Western&Southern Financial Group Women's Open in Cincinatti is out. Sara is unseeded and plays Daniela Hantuchova in the first round.

Sara played a great final in Portoroz, but unfortunately she narrowly lost it: 7-6 1-6 5-7. Of course it's disappointing that she got so close and wasn't able to close out the match, but she should be very proud of herself for playing like this against the world #1.
Next week, Sara doesn't play. The week of the 3rd of august, she will play in Los Angeles.

Sara beat Voegele 6-1 6-2 to move into the final in Portoroz, for the 2nd year in a row. She lost only 8 games in the tournament so far, but tonight a tough task is waiting for her: she will face world #1 Dinara Safina in the final.

Sara beat Martic 6-1 6-1 and is in the semifinals in Portoroz. She will play Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland next.

Another easy match for Sara in Portoroz today: she beat Zakopalova 6-1 6-1, and is now into the quarterfinal! Her next opponent will be Petra Martic from Croatia.
Zakopalova got revenge in doubles shortly after the singles though: she and Camille Pin beat Sara and Masa Zec-Peskiric 6-1 6-4.

In doubles Sara is also through to the 2nd round, after she and Zec-Peskiric beat Frankova/Palkina 4-6 6-4 11-9. They will play Pin/Zakopalova in the 2nd round.
Zakopalova is also Sara's next opponent in singles. They will play at 6.30pm (CET) tomorrow.

An easy win for Sara today: she beat Arantxa Rus 6-1 6-0 in 51 minutes.
She won an amazing 25 of 31 points (81%) on her own serve, and broke Rus six times.
Tomorrow Sara will play her first round in doubles. She teams up with Masa Zec-Peskiric, and they play Frankova/Palkina in the first round.

Unfortunately Sara wasn't able to grab the title in Palermo. Pennetta played a great match and was simply too strong: 6-1 6-2.
It was still a great week for Sara though, hopefully her form is back now.

This week Sara will defend her title in Portoroz. In the first round she will play Dutch player Arantxa Rus.

Sara made the finals in Palermo! She beat Anna Lena Groenefeld 6-3 4-6 6-1. In the final, Sara will play fellow Italian, and top seed, Flavia Pennetta.
Sara now has a stunning 12-1 record in Palermo, after making the semis at her debut in 2007, winning the tournament last year and reaching the finals this year.

Into the semifinals!
Sara beat Yaroslava Shvedova 6-2 7-5 in Palermo yesterday, after being down 3-5 in the 2nd set. She will now face Anna-Lena Groenefeld in the semifinals.

Sara and Lourdes lost in doubles yesterday: 4-6 6-7 to Llagostera Vives and Martinez Sanchez.
She will play her quarterfinal against Yaroslava Shvedova at 4pm today.

This week Sara plays in Palermo, which is a special place for her because she won her first WTA Tour title there last year.
Interestingly, in the first round she plays Mariya Koryttseva, who she beat in the final last year.
In doubles Sara plays with Dominguez Lino again, they play Anderson/Dentoni in the first round.

Unfortunately Sara lost in the first round in Budapest, not to Cetkovska, who pulled out, but to Timea Bacsinszky. Bacsinszky won 7-5 4-6 6-0.

The draw for the Gaz de France Grand Prix in Budapest is out. Sara is 7th seed and plays one of the strongest undeeded players in the first round: Petra Cetkovska.
In doubles Sara teams up with Lourdes Dominguez Lino, and they play Hercog/Uhlirova in the first round.

A mixed day for Sara at Wimbledon today. She started really well in singles, and took a 5-3 lead in the 1st set against Ana Ivanovic. Unfortunately she lost the match 5-7 1-6.
In doubles, she and Carla Suarez Navarro got through to the second round after their opponents Lisa Raymond and Vera Zvonareva were forced to retire at 6-5 in the first set.

Sara won her first round in Wimbledon. The first set was close, Dubois served to win it at 5-4, but Sara showed her fighting spirit and took the set 7-5. After that it was easier, and Sara took the second set 6-2.
In the next round she plays (again) against Ana Ivanovic.

I had no time to update here during the Ordina Open, however, in singles Sara lost there in the first round, against local favourite Michaella Krajicek.
In doubles, she had a great tournament, and won the title! Together with Flavia Pennetta she beat Czink/Grandin, Cirstea/Safina, Dechy/Pelletier, and in a very exciting final they beat Krajicek/Wickmayer 6-4 5-7 13-11! This was Sara's 2nd Tour doubles title.
Not only did they win the title, but Sara played really well, and was often the best player on court. She and Flavia also had a lot of fun, both on and off court.

Now it's already time to think about Wimbledon. Sara plays her first round match today, against Canadian Stephanie Dubois. She also plays in doubles, with Carla Suarez Navarro.

Due to the rain, Sara didn't start the tournament in Birmingham until today. Unfortunately it was a tough day for her. In singles she lost in 3 close sets to Julia Goerges (4-6 7-5 5-7) and in doubles she and Maria Kirilenko lost to world #1s Cara Black and Liezel Huber (4-6 1-6).
Sara's next tournament will the the Ordina Open in Rosmalen. Hopefully she does well there, cause I'm going the whole week :)

The draw for the AEGON Classic in Birmingham is out. Sara is 8th seed and had a bye in the first round. In the second round she will play Julia Goerges of Germany, or a qualifier.

Unfortunately Sara is out of Roland Garros, as she and Lourdes Dominguez Lino lost to 4th seeds Stosur/Stubbs 3-6 4-6.
Sara's next tournament will be the AEGON Classic in Birmingham, which is held the week of 8th of june.

Roland Garros is not over yet for Sara. She won in doubles today. Together with Lourdes Dominguez Lino she beat Amanmuradova/Kudryavtseva 6-3 6-2.

2 losses for Sara today in Warsaw. In singles she lost 4-6 3-6 to Alexandra Dulgheru, and in doubles she and Tathiana Garbin lost a hardfought match to Peschke/Raymond: 5-7 7-5 8-10.

Sara is into the 2nd round in Warsaw! She beat Greta Arn 6-2 1-6 7-6 (2). In the 2nd round, Sara will play Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania.
In doubles, Sara teams up with fellow Italian Tathiana Garbin. In the first round, they will play 1st seeds Kveta Peschke and Lisa Raymond.

Sara will play the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open this week. This is a compulsory event on the WTA Tour. In the first round she plays against Switzerlands Patty Schnyder, who surprisingly beat Serena Williams in Rome last week.
