2M DXCC # 40 World Wide
Hello and welcome!
My name is Eltje Veen and I'm a ham since 1978 at the age of seventeen.
I'm living in the northern part of the Netherlands, in JO33JI to be exactly.

My main interest is VHF and weak signal communication, especially WSJT.
To get extremely faint signals out of the noise is my biggest thrill.
Having done a lot of the good old morse code, the emphasis now is for 99,9% the digital way. Not because CW or SSB isn't attractive anymore, it's just the best way to get the most out of it.
Not being a big gun the most important thing for me is to grab and use the challenge of digital communication in a way to get contacts all over the world.
I obtained the WAC-award in 2006 just after having restarted with moonbounce (EME).
In 2009 I completed 2 Meter DXCC ! I am very happy with my ARRL DXCC Award DXCC 2 Meters # 40 World Wide:

With only two antennas and no real QRO I am World Wide the smallest station ever that obtained this prestigious award!!!
EME is for me the biggest challenge in the radiohobby. Being able to work stations with minor antennas or ERP than myself gives a lot of satisfaction, not to mention the most!
Yes, it's only a hobby. And that's why I choose to have fun every minute I am in my shack chasing for another initial, grid square, DXCC-entity or just a nice QSO.
For me, every QSO over the moon, over the unbelievable distance of more than 800,000 kilometers is an accomplishment to be proud of.
